Sonata XXV Dresden (WSW 49) comes from a later period. The Sonata has 6 movements: Allemande, Courante, Bourée, Sarabande, Menuet and a Presto. The Presto is the only piece of Weiss that has been published during his life (in a periodical of Telemann).
To create more concordance with the baroque tuning of the lute, the g – string is lowered by a semitone to f – sharp.
The Sonata ia written in B flat – major. For ease and effectiveness of playing I have transposed the Sonata to G – major
